He was leader of new model army commanded by MPs. He had a title of Lord Protector of England, Scotland and Ireland.

During his power England was republic instead of monarchy. He caused a masacra in Drogheda and Wexford in 1641 because the Scots didn't give up. He died in 1658 of malaria.
